Achievements over responsibilities
A job description lists duties. A resume should list what you accomplished doing them. Recruiters already know roughly what your title entails.
Describe outcomes, not the job description
Rewrite duty statements as accomplishments. Ask of every bullet: what was better because I did this?
Do
- Convert "was in charge of X" into "did X, which produced Y".
- Prioritize the bullets that show impact; trim the ones that just restate the role.
Avoid
- Don't paraphrase your job posting back at the reader.
- Don't list routine duties that any holder of the title would perform.
