Where information sits on the page decides what gets read. Put the strongest, most relevant material where a recruiter looks first.
Order sections by relevance
A common, effective order is contact details, a short summary, skills, experience, projects, then education — but promote whatever is strongest for the target role.
Do
- Lead with the section that best proves you fit this role.
- Students and career-changers can move education or projects up.
- Keep a clear contact block with a professional email and relevant links.
Avoid
- Don't bury your most impressive, relevant material below filler.
- Don't include sections that add nothing (e.g. an objective that restates the obvious).
